Why doesn't Cash Registers Online offer free shipping?

At Cash Registers Online we strive to offer our customers the best prices on the products we offer, including the costs of shipping items to your doorstep.

Cash Registers Online recently switched to using carrier-calculated rates (unlike most of our competitors) for our shipping methods to provide the lowest possible rates for Ground and Express  shipping products to our customers.  If it costs us less to ship to you, you shouldn't have to pay as much, right?

Now, why can't we offer free shipping on all of the products we sell?  The answer is simple - every year FedEx increases shipping rates by approximately 6% on Ground and Express shipping methods.  FedEx publicly displays these changes, and you can see the past two years of rate increases by following these links:

Some companies build a flat (generally higher) shipping rate into the price of the product, we try to offer the lowest price on the product as well as the shipping amount.

We do offer FedEx SmartPost as a shipping option on smaller packages, since it is generally a less expensive service for consumers.  SmartPost may take an extra 1-2 business days depending on the destination, since the package transitions from FedEx to USPS once it arrives to the destination city.
